Global Demand for Low-Carbon Building Materials Surges: China's 2025 WPC Door Exports Top USD 480 Million, Up 21.3% Year-on-Year

Backed by eco-friendly performance, cost advantages and a complete industrial chain, China's WPC composite doors have steadily captured a larger share of the global door and window market in recent years. According to customs export statistics and industrial research data, China's total export value of WPC doors reached USD 480 million in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%, with total export volume hitting 2.18 million sets, rising 12.3% year-on-year. China accounts for over 81% of the world's total WPC door exports, firmly ranking as the world's largest supplier.

In terms of market distribution, export markets follow a pattern of steady sales in mature markets and explosive growth in emerging markets. North America stands as the top importing region, accounting for 42% of China's total exports, with strong purchasing demand from building material distributors, home renovation contractors and real estate developers in the United States. The EU market makes up 28% of total exports. Driven by carbon border adjustment mechanisms and green building policies, European countries including Germany, Spain and Romania place bulk orders for formaldehyde-free, waterproof interior WPC doors. Southeast Asia records the fastest growth thanks to tariff reductions under the RCEP, with annual import growth exceeding 20% in Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines. Markets in the Middle East such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Israel see surging orders for moisture-proof and termite-resistant WPC doors spurred by new city construction and hotel decoration projects. Africa and Latin America emerge as brand-new blue-chip growth markets, with China's WPC door exports to Africa jumping by 47% for the whole year.

Industry analysts attribute the booming overseas sales of Chinese WPC doors to three core strengths:

Adaptable Product Performance for Diverse Global Climates

Manufactured through one-step extrusion of wood flour and eco-friendly resin, WPC doors contain zero formaldehyde, feature waterproof, moisture-proof, crack-proof, deformation-proof, insect and rot-resistant properties. They fit the humid climate of Southeast Asia, hot and arid weather in the Middle East, as well as rainy coastal regions across North America. WPC doors outperform traditional wooden doors and PVC doors significantly for bathrooms, balconies, hotels and commercial projects. Boasting a recyclability rate of up to 95%, they fully comply with green building standards and LEED low-carbon project requirements worldwide.

Strong Cost Performance Driven by Large-Scale Industrial Chains

Mature WPC industrial clusters have taken shape in Zhejiang, Shandong and Jiangsu Provinces of China, equipped with widespread automated extrusion, lamination and painting production lines. A single production line can output over 240 door sets per day. Chinese WPC doors are 19% to 23% cheaper than equivalent local products manufactured in Europe and America. Customization options covering door slab thickness, wood-grain transfer printing, solid-color lamination and carved patterns are available to satisfy both mass engineering orders and personalized demands of retail showrooms.

Comprehensive International Certifications Facilitate Global Market Access

Leading Chinese export manufacturers have obtained a full set of certifications including CE, FSC, ISO14001 and REACH to meet mandatory market access standards of the EU and North America. Most factories supply complete supporting hardware, door frames and installation accessories, supporting one-stop FOB delivery solutions tailored for building material wholesalers, door & window showrooms, renovation contractors and import traders.

Global low-carbon policies act as the key driver of rising market demand. Carbon border taxes implemented by the EU, mandatory green building codes newly adopted by various countries, as well as environmental material requirements for real estate decoration projects, push distributors to phase out high-pollution solid wood and MDF doors. Compared with traditional wooden doors prone to damp deformation, formaldehyde emission and limited timber supply, WPC composite doors require far lower long-term maintenance costs, leading to rising penetration in overseas residential renovation, public construction and affordable housing projects year by year.

Industry institutions forecast optimistic export growth for 2026. Driven by concentrated launches of large-scale projects including Saudi Arabia's NEOM  New City, large residential parks in Vietnam and energy-saving renovation of old buildings across Europe, China's annual WPC door export value is expected to exceed USD 550 million, with export volume growing by more than 10% year-on-year. Meanwhile, domestic manufacturers are accelerating global channel expansion, developing local distributors via Google Maps, LinkedIn and overseas building material exhibitions, and cooperating with local showrooms and national building material chains to further expand global market share.

Industry practitioners stated that Chinese WPC door manufacturers will focus on high-end product upgrading in the next stage: optimizing micro-foaming processes to reduce door weight, launching multi-functional composite doors with sound insulation and fire resistance, and expanding surface finishes including minimalist, light luxury and retro styles. Riding the global sustainable building materials trend, enterprises will further consolidate China's leading position in the global WPC door supply chain.
